Starting in the ghost town of St. Elmo, follow signs through town to reach the start of the trail. During the spring thaw the water in Mirror Lake floods the trail. With 10 campsites situated along Mirror lake, this campground is close to fishing, off-roading trails, the Garden Basin Trailhead, and Taylor Park Reservoir areas. Tincup Pass is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 3.710m (12,171ft) above the sea level, located in Gunnison County, Colorado, in United States.
It’s about more than standing on the mountain top. Mirror Lake is a great place to stop and take a break or maybe try your luck as some lake trout along the Tincup Pass Jeep Road. Frenchy's Cafe is located at the start of the trail in Tincup. also connects to this trail near Mirror Lake.

Tincup Pass is a trail that crosses the continental divide between the two mining towns of St. Elmo and Tincup. The road is open to OHV's, motorcycles and 4-wheel drive vehicles. Small 4x4 SUV descending the trail from pass in fall colors. The Rocky Mountains in Colorado are actually formed by many different ranges.
Tincup is 20 miles past Wayan, Idaho on SH 34.
