I will admit that when Pollyanna was first introduced I feared that she would be just as annoying as I remembered her to be, but within the next few chapters these fears were quenched and so I continued on with the story. When I was about 12 I read this book for the first time and complained about it to no end because I found Pollyanna to be quite annoying at the time. When did I first read Pollyanna? Please try again. My children each had such a touching emotional growth of faith, compassion and empathy through this reading that I wish all children had a mommy to read this story to them!
